COVID-19 Policy

Inline with government requirements we have undertaken a risk assessment and have made changes to our ways of working to manage the COVID transmission risk. The following protocols will be in place:

  • One way systems in and out of the buildings for pupils
  • Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout
  • No waiting areas will be open inside the buildings
  • Teachers will be available to help pupils to maintain social distancing and to adhere to the above protocols
  • Halls will be thoroughly cleaned before and after on the days classes are being held. Spot cleaning will be done between classes when required

Pupils / Adult Dancers

  • Must not attend class if they or a member of their household have any symptoms of Covid including - high temperature, continuous cough, loss of sense of smell or taste. Please inform us if you have Covid symptoms.
  • Must arrive 5 minutes before the class start time
  • Must use the hand sanitiser available before and after class
  • Must adhere to the one way systems in and out of the building
  • Only bring minimal essential items with you (dance shoes / bottle of water) avoid bringing coats in with you
  • Do not bring any food to class
  • Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to at all times. Our youngest dancers will be helped as much as possible to social distance

Parents

  • Must not enter the building, please make an orderly queue following current social distance measures/ guidelines to drop off and collect your child at the assigned entry / exit . Alternatively wait in your vehicle until your class has been invited in by the teacher or student teacher
  • There will be no waiting area for parents inside Laleham Methodist Church or the Littleton Old School Building (e.g in either the foyer or the kitchens)
  • If you would like to speak to the teacher please phone the principle on 07920022870 as we won't be able to invite parents into the building

Pre existing terms and conditions reminder:

If classes have to be stopped due to a localised lockdown, classes will be rescheduled online and/or carried over to the following term wherever possible. However it will not be possible to issue refunds.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Fees should be received by the School by the date noted on the invoice, any late payment may be subject to a surcharge.

  2. All Fees are non-refundable.

  3. Fees cover one full term. Discounts or refunds will not be given for classes missed by the pupil. In these circumstances the School will attempt to arrange for the pupil to attend another lesson but this cannot be guranteed.

  4. If you do not receive an invoice, please advise the Principle accordingly.

  5. If the teacher is unavailable to give any scheduled class, and a supply teacher cannot be arranged, the class will be carried forward to another date. If this is not possible, any fee already paid for the scheduled class will be refunded.

  6. The School will not be held responsible for classes cancelled due to extreme circumstances. In this case, an alternative class will be arranged where possible.

  7. Pupils wishing to discontinue their classes at the School must give a half term's notice in writing, otherwise a half term's fees will be charged.

  8. The Principal should be notified of any change in contact details.

  9. The School does not accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen. Any found items will be kept in the Lost Property Box. If not claimed after a reasonable period the item will be disposed of.

  10. Dancing is a physical skill and in order to help and facilitate the students' learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be in a professional manner and the intention of the contact will be made clear.

  11. The School may wish to take photos or videos of our students for the website, flyers and future productions. Please alert the Principal if you would not like your child to be included in this.

  12. Examinations and Shows are not compulsary but are encouraged.

  13. Pupils wanting to participate in examinations must attend a minimum of two classes per week.

  14. Any queries and complaints should be addressed to the Principle only.

  15. Parents are not permitted to watch the classes as this can be distracting for Pupils. Parents will have the opportunity to watch their children during open days and shows.

  16. The Dancers Code of Conduct must be adhered to.
